Sony: rumor indicates launch of two new Xperia in Japan in July

Sony is not doing very well in the smartphone market in general, withdrawing from various markets around the world. However, investments in its home territory do not seem to have ceased, as rumors indicate that two new handsets should be announced there in July. The speculations speak about devices that can be called Xperia 1S / Xperia S and Xperia 1V / Xperia V.

The source is a Japanese leaker known as Zackbuks, who used the Sumahoinfo blog to disseminate the information. According to him, Sony should introduce new products on July 9 in Tokyo, citing the letters “S” and “V”, referring to possible names.

There are rumors that the Japanese giant is working on a top-of-the-line handset unique to its home market. It would bring an IPS LCD panel, not an OLED, as found in Xperia 1. Still, it’s supposed to have an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. However, it is not clear whether either of these two will be this curious model.

Also worth noting that there were renderings of a Sony smartphone with three rear cameras, with them positioned in the upper left corner, not in the middle, as seen in Xperia 1. It was believed that it would be the supposed Xperia 2, but they are large the chances of being one of these two new devices to be presented. In any case, we’ll need to wait for more information about them in the coming days.
