Prepare the battery! Minecraft Earth beta will be available for Android next week

Microsoft and Mojang are developing an augmented reality game for Minecraft that will expand players’ possibilities. Minecraft Earth will be released sometime in the unspecified future, but already has a beta for iOS.

Those interested in owning an Android, though, can start celebrating: Starting next week, companies will take title tests into the open-source system universe. The announcement was made by Twitter, with the pre-registration page released.

Minecraft Earth will not only focus on maintaining a game that exploits players’ creativity but will also be premised on uniting players around healthy challenges and competitions.

It’s no exaggeration to say that Earth is a reasonably quiet Mojang bet on the mobile gaming universe thanks to Pokémon GO, which in 2016 popularized this genre and was followed by other studios. Even Dragon Quest and the Jurassic Park franchise have AR titles today.

Harry Potter is the latest character to enter this universe, with a game also developed by Niantic.

A Minecraft Earth gameplay had previously been released, showing that despite following the augmented reality formula combined with walking, the game will retain its essence, and should not be surprising to those accustomed to the classic version.

Remember, Microsoft has discontinued a high-definition texture pack for the main game. Those who care a lot should find more polished graphics in the mobile title, as well as in the new cross-platform game to be released in 2020.
