Huawei projects revenue reduction by $ 10 billion per US embargo

August 24, 2019 By Kamran Haider Leave a Comment

HuaweiUnsurprisingly, the year 2019 has been somewhat troubled for Chinese manufacturer Huawei, thanks to sanctions imposed by the US government and its ripple effect that has boosted the development of the proprietary Harmony OS (or HongMeng OS in China) operating system. ), which can be shipped on smartphones, tablets, and notebooks of the manufacturer.

Despite this, the company had so far shown that its revenues did not reflect the problems experienced by the brand, having closed the first semester with an increase when compared to the same period of the previous year.

However, according to the vice president of the brand, Eric Xu, the accumulated for the year may not be as positive as in the first semester (and the initial projections), and it is expected that a reduction in sales in the amount of more than half is expected. from $ 10 billion to 2019.

This number is much more interesting than originally presented by the company, which estimated a loss of $ 30 billion but nonetheless financially negative.

According to him, the official number can only be checked in detail when the financial year is closed and the accounting reports are presented to investors, something that may possibly occur in March 2020.

It should be noted that Huawei’s group of companies posted total revenues of 349 billion yuan in 2018.
