Retrospective! DxOMark Recalls Best Smartphone Cameras Launched in 2019

November 30, 2019 by Kamran Haider Leave a Comment

DxOMarkThe hectic year 2019 is about to end and little should be released until it is time to open the champagne and celebrate the arrival of 2020. That is why DxOMark, which produces the highest-ranking smartphone camera, has decided to move forward with its retrospective. , remembering the best phones of the year from the lens aspect.

About 31 models were tested this year, from different categories, from the most basic to the advanced. It was in 2019 that the first phone with five rear cameras came on the market, the Nokia 9 PureView, and the Mi Note 10 Pro – treated there as Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition – as well as models that do not have so many lenses.

As expected, the evolution was clear compared to 2018, so much so that the leaders of the ranking are models released this year. But as the overall ranking is divided into scores by item, it is also possible to detail the best phone for each type or quality of capture. And that is what DxOMark did in its retrospective: attention to detail.

Overall, the best is still the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, tied with the Xiaomi CC9 Pro Premium Edition, highlighting its cutting-edge camera hardware, which reached 121 points. The iPhone 11 Pro Max comes in third with 117 points, and the review has sparked controversy.

The most advanced cell phone from Apple is the best when it comes to video. In this respect, it achieved 102 points, tied with the Xiaomi model, and just one point ahead of Google Pixel 4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G. The advantage of the iPhone is the ability to record HDR images, bringing a wider dynamic range and under different conditions.

In zoom, the victory is the Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition, an extremely sensitive feature in smartphones. However, the Xiaomi model stands out so much in that, which is 14 points ahead of second place, the Huawei P30 Pro. Already in ultra-wide, the highlight is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G, aspect in which analysts of DxOMark noticed large differences between the models analyzed.

For night shots, Huawei Mate 30 Pro is recommended, reinforcing Huawei’s work in hardware and software to produce outstanding cameras. Frame stacking technology and other features to enhance light gathering have made the model unbeatable for night shots.
