Project xCloud: Xbox game streaming can now be tested on iOS

Microsoft’s game streaming service can now be tested by users of the iOS operating system. Project xCloud is available to be tried on iPhones and iPads. The platform has more than 50 console games that can be played on mobile devices.

On Wednesday (12), executive Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb posted the news on his official blog. He explains that the “tests” are carried out through Apple’s TestFlight program. However, there are differences from the beta experienced on Android since last year.

Only ten thousand people will be able to participate in the preview period. The invitation will be sent to some people. If they do not respond within a short time, the vacancy is passed on to other users.

However, “Major Nelson,” said shortly after that the registrations had reached maximum capacity. At first, Redmond’s giant game streaming is available in three countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

Despite the vast catalog of compatible games, only the title “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” is available for iOS testing. Users are advised to use an Xbox One Bluetooth controller. However, other wireless joysticks can also be used.

The registration to integrate the xCloud trial period on iOS is available on the project page, within the official Xbox website (on this link ). The requirements are a Microsoft account associated with a Gamertag console, having an iPhone or iPad with iOS / iPadOS 13.0 installed and downloading the TestFlight app from the App Store.
