OnePlus 9 can offer video recording in 8K resolution with 960 fps

While rumors point to the launch of just one flagship smartphone from OnePlus for the second half of 2020, new information has just emerged regarding the company’s future generation of line tops for next year.

Codes within the OxygenOS 11 beta show that OnePlus would be working on a powerful 8K resolution video recording option with super slow motion capability at 960 fps, and it is certainly not the OnePlus 8T.

Expected with Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset, Qualcomm’s processor offers recording capacity in 8K resolution, but with a limit of 30 fps and for a measly 5 minutes in length to prevent overheating of the smartphone. And recording on a 960fps super camera lens is only allowed in HD resolution. This suggests, therefore, that the rumor concerns the OnePlus 9.

As the limitations practically confirm that it is impossible for OnePlus to deliver such extraordinary performance with current hardware, the big bets are on the development of the OnePlus 9 with Snapdragon 875 processor, Qualcomm’s next high-performance chipset for 2021.

The next platform will be presented with 5-nanometer lithography that promises to offer not only even better performance than the current one, but also battery optimization, lower power consumption, and even better photo and video recording capacity than the Snapdragon 865.

Also according to XDA, OnePlus would also be working to launch the new OnePlus Buds Z. Records show that the manufacturer’s wireless headset would be in development, but there are no further details on differentials and design.
