After the GSMA itself – organizer of the fair – confirmed the non-holding of MWC 2020, it was Motorola’s turn to comment and announce the cancellation of its agenda in Barcelona. The decision was made because of the coronavirus epidemic.
The Lenovo-owned company would hold an event to announce new smartphones next February 23. However, due to the outbreak of the disease and the risks of contamination at the site, he preferred to go back and decline the schedule.
According to the company, the priority is the health and well-being of the participants and their employees. However, it has not yet announced what the new plans will be to present its products to the public.
With an invitation sent from the end of January, the expectation is that the Motorola event was to announce a new top of the line: the supposed Edge Plus. The trend is that the device was the first of the brand to have a curved screen.
Now, company enthusiasts should wait a little longer to find out what the future devices are. The manufacturer joins other names in the smartphone market that had already announced the departure of MWC this year, such as LG, Sony, Nokia, and TCL. Check the full statement:

MWC 2020 would be held from February 24, in Barcelona, Spain. TudoCelular would cover the fair in loco for another year.
