Last month, a continuing drop in popularity for Mozilla Firefox was recorded by StatCounter graphics. However, fox’s browser obtained a simple increase, enough to find itself in the third position among the most used browsers in the world.
Registering its first fall in months, Microsoft Edge is in 4th place in the world ranking and opened space for its rival to stand out in the market, even if discreetly.
Bill Gates’ browser competes fiercely with Mozilla’s open-source browser, to the point that we have almost imperceptible changes in the metrics in the chart below. In addition to its direct competitors, the month of January started a curious decline in Safari, while Google Chrome grows on all platforms.
In addition to gaining compatibility with several Chrome extensions for the desktop, the native Windows 10 browser has several productivity features in its update schedule – the Office integration is an example, such as data synchronization between devices.
Abandoning the original Edge design appears to have been an effective move on the part of Microsoft – on the chart, you can see its solid growth since mid-2020 when the Redmond giant began to focus on developing a browser-based on Chromium.

Users of the Google operating system can enjoy tools not yet released in the stable version with a free beta distribution on the Play Store. With version 89 in development, Firefox is expected to launch close to Android 12 and, over time, expand its support for extensions.
