Montblanc launches Summit Lite smartwatch on the European market without much fanfare

Montblanc launchesMontblanc launched a new model of smartwatch a few weeks ago. Summit Lite arrived silently on the European market, after two generations of smartwatches from the luxury company.

Summit Lite was first seen in November 2020, when it was spotted on the Google Play Console. Since then, little has been released about the wearable, so much so that it barely stirred the smart device market.

The fact is that, now, the manufacturer of luxury accessories has already launched a more “affordable” version for its line of smartwatches. Last year, the company launched Summit 2 Plus in the US market for the US $ 1,170 – something around R $ 6,283 at the current price. Therefore, any addition below that can come in handy for those looking for a luxury model but don’t want to shell out that much.

Summit Lite reached the European market for € 815 (or R $ 5,304 in direct conversion) and is available in the version with fabric or rubber bracelets. It also comes with a 1.19-inch AMOLED display – the same size as the Summit 2, but slightly smaller than the Plus version, which is 1.28 inches. It still has 390 × 390 resolution and has Gorilla Glass protection on its panel, which is attached to a rotating crown.

It is manufactured with a black structure and has a 42 mm body, which allows the exchange of the bracelet in the 22mm format. Its body is composed of recycled aluminum material, instead of the stainless steel from previous products. It also has water-resistance of up to 5 ATMs but does not have the same IPX8 certification as Summit 2 Plus.

Regarding the specifications of a smartwatch itself, it arrives equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor and has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.

In the resources section, it is possible to find sensors to check the heart rate, in addition to a barometer, accelerometer, gyroscope, and ambient light. Finally, it also has LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi (802.11b / g / n 2.4GHz), GPS, and NFC for payments by approach.

So far, however, there is no forecast for the accessory’s arrival in markets outside Europe and the company’s American website has not yet listed it among its smartwatch models, which only houses the Summit 2 and 2 Plus in the catalog.
