It’s gonna take a while! EA Reveals Estimated Release of Apex Legends for Smartphones

Introduced to the public earlier this year, the Apex Legends game has managed over time to catch the attention of the gamer audience and register significant marks in its history, which includes a total of 25 million players in just one week.

Shortly thereafter, we began to see rumors pointing to the possibility that Respawn and Electronic Arts had begun studies on the possibility of bringing the battle royale to Android and iOS smartphones and tablets to compete for space previously dominated by PUBG, Free. Fire and Fortnite.

Now, a few months after the first rumors surfaced, more information was released by EA Chief Executive Andrew Wilson, revealing that expansion plans for mobile platforms are still active, with availability expected for the fiscal year 2021.

Considering that EA fiscal years start just before the year itself, it is estimated that this will happen between 10/1/2020 and 9/20/2021.

Also according to the executive, information about the competitive program should soon be revealed, not giving much information about it in his speech.

“With the Apex Legends community now growing by more than 70 million players, we are focused on expanding to new mobile platforms and new geographies, and launching a competitive Apex gaming program that we will share details with shortly.”
