The Google Pixel C was a tablet launched in 2015 with advanced features at the time, such as quad-HD screen, an Nvidia Tegra X1 chipset – the same as the Nintendo Switch – and already had USB-C connection. It came, however, at a time when phablets were already making their fame, and users were growing eyes for this type of product that each new model could offer even bigger screen devices.
With a long sales period – after all, the device was only discontinued in December 2017 – the product was replaced by the Pixel Slate, but we are talking about a device created by the search giant, so that did not mean an immediate abandonment.
By internal policy Google promises to continue to update its devices for another 18 months after they have their sales closed. And well, the last breath of life of the Pixel C was felt in June, when that deadline came to an end. Corroborating that it will no longer receive support, the July update has not been released.
The Pixel C has come a long way: leaving the factory with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow it soon was upgraded to the Nougat 7 and received even the Android 8 Oreo. Unfortunately, it will not have the Android 9 pie, but its trajectory is commendable when we observe that a product from 2015 arrived until last month receiving security updates.
In the Android universe, it is common for manufacturers to support their cell phones for a period between 18 and 24 months from the launch of them. There are manufacturers, too, who launch smartphones that do not receive any system version upgrades.

Pixel products have special attention from Google, but the company has been generous beyond what it promises: the Pixel line of smartphones, for example, has Android One and therefore has two major updates. Pleasing old buyers though, the company will upgrade the original 2016 Pixel to Android Q.
