Facebook introduces new video features for Workplace and Oculus for Business

Work, in general, has been deeply affected since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Facebook has brought tools to make workers’ daily lives easier.

Starting with your employees, who are working from home and will return to the company’s offices working with masks and a limited number of employees. For merchants, the chain recently launched the Facebook Stores feature, for merchants to continue selling online.

And the news now encompasses the future of work, with important additions to Workplace – in addition to previous updates – Portal and Oculus, your virtual reality platform.

Workplace gained new video features that make communication easier and, in countries where the feature is available, Facebook brought new features to Workplace on the website, and also launched Oculus for Business, which aims to meet the demand for training and collaboration for virtual reality.

About the Workplace Rooms, the tool is used by co-workers to solve projects with greater interaction while it is not possible to be together in person. It is, basically, a meeting room with the unlimited time that offers the possibility to concentrate up to fifty people, even if they do not have a Workplace account or are in your company.

The platform serves for team meetings, virtual happy hour, and even alignment calls. They can be created quickly through video call links in the Workplace chat, Groups, News Feed, or in the Web version.

The workplace will also automatically translate subtitles that are in one of these languages into the other five available. You’ll have the option to edit subtitles when you’re done, in case you want to make updates before the video becomes available on demand
