Apple tests keyboard shortcut to change brightness in beta for iPadOS 13.5.5

Earlier this week, Apple released the first beta version of iPadOS 13.5.5 for developers, without giving further details about the news. Now, the 9to5Mac website has discovered a feature in tests by “Apple” in the new operating system for its tablets.

According to the publication, a code analysis showed that new keyboard shortcuts are in preparation to change the brightness of the iPad’s screen or even the peripheral’s own backlight. The clue, however, does not indicate whether they will be customizable or not.

One of the complaints of users of the brand’s device is that the official external keyboards do not have function keys. In practice, the absence of these buttons forces the user to go to Settings or the Control Center to adjust some items – such as the brightness of the display.

However, with the possible future change of the Cupertino giant, the life of consumers of the company’s tablet would be made easier. One of the cases that already exists is the remapping of the modifier keys. Caps Lock, for example, can be positioned on the Escape button.

So far, there is no forecast for Apple to insert these new features in the iPadOS. The trend is that the feature will be implemented in the final version 13.5.5 or in the future iPadOS 14, later this year.
