Android 10 Go Edition begins to reach Nokia 2.1 users in certain locations

About two years after its launch, Nokia 2.1 started receiving the second major system update. The device was launched in May 2018, along with two more “cheap” models: Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1.

Since then, the device has already received the update for Android 9 Pie Go Edition, in February last year and, now, begins to receive Android 10 Go Edition. The news was shared by Nokia’s own Twitter page, which also announced that the update will be released in stages in selected markets.

According to the company, the first update wave will include Nokia 2.1 users in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. Nokia explained that 10% of users will receive the update today, September 2. By September 5, 50% of the user base should have received the update and, finally, 100% of the devices in these countries will be updated by September 7.

So far there is no forecast for the update to arrive in other countries, so you need to keep an eye on the company’s next news.

Android Go Edition is a “pure” version of Google’s operating system with fewer features or lighter versions of standard software functions. It is specially designed for devices with low RAM so that users can enjoy the new versions of Android without suffering from crashes on the device.
