THE KING OF FIGHTERS ALLSTAR is a ‘beat’em up’ with the occasional touch of RPG, in which we can control dozens of characters from the King of Fighters saga. When starting to play we will be able to choose between Terry Bogard, Ryo Sakazaki and Kyo Kusanagi; but as we play we will be able to unlock many new characters that will join our adventure.
The control system of THE KING OF FIGHTERS ALLSTAR is very intuitive. On the left side of the screen we will have the virtual movement stick, with which we can move through the three-dimensional scenes. By touching anywhere on the screen we can carry out normal attacks, while to activate the special abilities we will have to use the buttons on the right.
The story mode of THE KING OF FIGHTERS ALLSTAR is very extensive, with more than twenty chapters, divided into as many levels. In each of these levels we will have to face several normal enemies and with at least one ‘boss’. Luckily, we can bring up to four characters to each level.
