When Google launched Android 10, many users hoped that all search giant apps would already have dark mode enabled. However, for technical reasons, the company decided to make this modification gradually.
So, after a series of tests in the past few weeks, Google finally released today (11) the dark mode for Gmail on Android. According to some users, the news is quite simple and follows the pattern set by the search giant.
Thus, we do not have deep black, but gray scales in various parts of the application. According to the company, this avoids possible visual problems, and the color red was kept as a highlight of Gmail.
Another important point added by the update is that avatars, labels and other parts of the app now get more sober tones. So instead of using bright red, the color is now matte.
Dark mode will also trigger even when writing an email, but there are still some parts that will need to be adapted in the future. For now, the news is being distributed through a server upgrade.

This may take a little longer for the news to start appearing on your smartphone. However, when available, Gmail should get a “Theme” option within the app dropdown.
