Xiaomi works on the company’s second 5G smartphone, CEO confirms


Xiaomi Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has just confirmed that Xiaomi is already developing another high-performance 5G-capable smartphone to launch in the Chinese market later this year.

In a post on the Chinese social network Weibo, Lei Jun said the achievement of manufacturing a 5G smartphone is a milestone in Xiaomi’s history and development and wants to maintain the market’s “coolest company” vision and sustain the great relationship you have with users.

So far the Mi Mix 3 5G is Xiaomi’s only device equipped with the new 5G mobile network connectivity technology. And as far as we know so far, the upcoming launch of the brand for the 5G market would be an exclusive Mi 9S variant that would support the fifth generation of mobile networks, would have the current flagship larger battery, rising from 3,300 mAh from Mi 9 to 4,000 mAh with the Mi 9S 5G.

Although information about the device is still extremely scarce, it is expected to be introduced to the market with Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset and equipped with the model X50 that allows 5G connectivity for mobile devices. In addition, users can expect a few changes from Mi 9.
