During the announcement of its new premium Snapdragon 765, 765G, and 865 chipsets, Qualcomm said it intended to provide a closer experience to its users on the desktop.
One of the measures taken to make this happen was to allow the GPU of the new chips to be updated through the app stores, in a process similar to the update of an application. Thus, it would not be necessary to wait for a major software update of the device to receive improvements and news.
Today, Xiaomi starts at the front and is the first smartphone manufacturer to make use of the new method. The Chinese have released a driver update for the Adreno 650, present on the Mi 10 line, and on the Redmi K30 Pro, with several improvements. In addition, OpenGL ES and Vulkan have also been updated.
Unfortunately, the novelty is only available in China, and it remains to be seen whether the update will be released in the same way in other parts of the world. Anyway, this was the first step for other companies to adopt a similar model, and thus make it easier to update important elements of smartphones.

Remember that Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of its Mi Note 10 Lite for tomorrow. Its specifications have already been leaked, and feature a Snapdragon 730G processor, 6.47-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution and drop-shaped notch to house the front camera, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and a set of four rear cameras 64MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP.
