WhatsApp tests account login on multiple devices without connecting to the main cell phone

WhatsApp has tested several features in the beta version of the application. As we have seen, the messenger now allows you to set different wallpapers for several individual chats.

However, the news does not stop there. Now, the app has started testing a feature that has long been requested by most users of the app: the option to log in to an account on multiple devices and without connecting to the main account. With this, it will be possible, for example, to log into the account through WhatsApp Desktop and, consequently, have access to the histories and the option to chat with contacts without the main cell phone being connected to the internet.

The feature will work similarly to what already happens with Telegram, in which it is possible to open the account in the computer version of the application and keep the conversations even without having a connection with the cell phone.

The novelty has not yet reached the beta version of the application, but the WABetaInfo team gained access to the novelty and shared some prints, as well as more details about the novelty.

With the new function, it will be possible to log in to the same WhatsApp account on up to four different devices, which can be in the mobile applications or the web versions – which can be opened in the browser – or the desktop version – which is installed directly on the PC. Best of all, any device will be able to access the account with its own connection, which excludes the need to keep the primary cell phone on or connected.

The portal also explains that the application tests a new interface for the desktop version of the messenger, that is, the one that can be installed on computers. It will store the entire conversation history of the user’s account and will have an end-to-end encryption system.

It is important to note, however, that this feature has not yet reached the beta version of the application – that the one that tests the new features before the final audience. Still, it is already in the company’s plans for the next few days to grant access to the new resource to this group. Still, there is no provision for beta testers to receive the new update or even the end-user of the app.
