According to WhatsApp, its developers were able to fix five loopholes in a single day, while the last one took longer to resolve. Despite not revealing details about each bug, the messenger makes it very clear that there is no evidence that hackers have taken advantage of security flaws.
WhatsApp did not provide specific information, but said broadly that the security flaws allowed a malicious person to have remote access to the victim’s app.
The messenger also confirmed that some security holes were discovered through his rewards program, while others were noted in the code review.
Finally, WhatsApp points out that the new security site serves to give more transparency to its actions. That’s because it will be used to comment on security holes that have been corrected, alert users to possible risks and make recommendations that do not fit in the Play Store update notes.
