In the microblog publication, the company did not give more details about the change. That is, if it remains in testing or has already been released to all users, or when it will be available to the entire database.
The possibility of expanding the limit on the number of members in calls of this type was already expected since last week when it was discovered the future insertion of the feature in the beta version available until then.

In order for the feature to be enabled, the user must have the beta version 2.20.133 on Android and 2.20.50.25 on iOS. After installing the update, WhatsApp should release video and voice calls for up to eight people.
Looking to compete with Zoom and other apps, WhatsApp now allows up to eight people to join a group video or voice call.
For those who don’t remember, the previous limit was only four people at a time, something that bothered a lot of people. For now, the release of the novelty is happening through phases. Therefore, the resource may take a little longer to be available to everyone.

For now, WhatsApp does not officially comment on this improvement for its video calls. Anyway, everything indicates that the novelty can be released in the public version at any time.
