Pinterest Lens is updated and now allows the purchase of products with the camera

The social network of images Pinterest officially confirmed today that it is implementing a new feature for “Lens”, allowing users to use the recognition system to identify products for purchase.

This novelty is duly linked to a new tab available on the social network identified as Shop (or “buy”, in free translation), which is displayed next to the “explore” tab and will allow purchases related to what was photographed by the user.

From the capture, the application will offer items visually similar to the proposed object, displaying proposals with their respective values in the upper left corner of the image, leading later to the closing of the order in partner stores.

Also according to the social network, the items most identified by the “Lens” function belong to the fashion and decoration categories, with the highlights of the main sale being items of artwork, clothes, vases, mirrors, carpets, and decorative pillows.

Do you wear running shoes and want to buy a similarly styled pair from a different brand? You can use Lens to buy products in stock. You can also send a screenshot taken from another application or an old photo directly from the camera roll – such as a work of art, a rug or pillows – and Lens will tell you what it is and where you can buy it.
