Oppo Files Patent for Smartwatch with Folding Screen and Two Modes of Use

After IBM showed off a smartwatch that turns up to a tablet, it was now Oppo’s turn to patent a folding-screen smartwatch. The document was requested in September last year and published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

As you can see in the following image, the accessory – titled “wearable electronic device” – would work the size of a regular, straight-screen watch, but could be extended up to 200% in the second mode of use by removing a lock. side and unfold the display.

The look of the smartwatch lets you wear it on both your left and right arm. The user interface also changes when the device size changes. To top it off, the folding process would be fully automatic.
