OnePlus 8: codes reveal upcoming “Ice Blue” nuance and 65W charging

In April we met the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, the current top of the line from the Chinese manufacturer that was once known for offering devices at great cost-benefit – something that, unfortunately, nowadays does not make much sense for the brand.

At launch, the firm offered the nuances of green (Glacial Green), black (Onyx Black), blue (Ultramarine Blue), silver (Polar Silver), and a so-called Interestellar Glow.

For those who were not satisfied with the various options mentioned above, apparently a new color will be released soon, according to clues found in the codes of an app contained in the newly released OxygenOS based on Android 11 Beta.

Twitter user Lavin Amarant found codes in the OnePlus Engineering Mode app, which the company uses for hardware testing – it comes pre-installed on all the brand’s devices.

In the most recent build distributed in OxygenOS builds based on Android 10 and 11, some code has been found pointing to the existence of a nuance called “Ice Blue”, which has not yet been announced.

Interestingly, the strings do not show the color Polar Silver (exclusive to the mobile operator Verizon), but the presence of an unofficial nuance reinforces that the brand may be preparing an ad for the next few days.

In addition to the discovery regarding the possible new color, another code, in particular, caught the developer’s attention, indicating the arrival of the feature called Super Warp Charge.

As the name implies, it is an even faster-charging technology than the Warp Charge, currently used by OnePlus offering up to 30 Watts of power.

In the case of the novelty, it would be able to deliver loads of up to 65-Watts, a technology similar to what we have, for example, in OPPO’s SuperVOOC 2.0 and in Realme’s SuperDart charge – OnePlus “raw” companies.

This means that China’s next smartphone, chronologically called OnePlus 8T, should arrive with even higher charging speeds, spending less time on the plug than its predecessors.
