Instagram may add new options to Boomerang soon

Anyone who likes using Instagram’s Boomerang option to make gifs in the few seconds available may soon gain a very interesting addition, as recently there has been information that app developers are working on a variation of the feature, providing other options for the animation.

Boomerang emerged in 2015 as a separate application whose sole purpose was to animate videos to make them gifs for sharing directly on Instagram. However, the company decided to bring the feature into the app and increase user acceptance.

The strategy worked because nowadays this additional tool is used by normal people who want to capture moments attractively, companies who want to highlight products and influencers who create tricks to inspire their followers.

Recently, the famous slipper Jane Manchun Wong shared on her Twitter an upgrade found in the app that aims to give more versions to Boomerang, providing the right kind of animation for each captured and shared situation.

In the tweet, you can see six animation versions, each of which has a certain movement to be repeated during the 1 second of recording. The first is the default that already exists in the app, but the other five are complimentary and easy to use.

  • Hold, which adds pauses to the end of the loop.
  • Dynamic, which adds wiggles to the end of each loop
  • Slow-motion
  • Duo, a slightly slower or faster version (depending on preference) of the traditional Boomerang
