And another app starts testing the dark mode! This is Google Duo, which has just received an update, and in its version 57, this feature is being made available in a partial way. In addition, a very interesting novelty concerns the quick access to the photo gallery for message sharing.
Google Duo has been in the market for more than three years as one more option for those who make video calls, either via smartphone or PC. Aiming to give even more comfort in usability, the responsible company has been making significant updates in the app to give versatility in the use and adaptation to the trends that are becoming popular.
The 9to5google site recently shared the discovery of new Google Duo 57 features, which were discovered through decompilation of the latest code update in the Play Store.
Among the information found, the one that generated more curiosity was the arrival of the dark mode to the application. However, this option can only be used when the feature is enabled on the smartphone operating system, both natively in Android Q and “Night”, in the options for Developer of the Foot.
But when you look at the first few prints, it’s apparent that Google still needs to make more edits to the code, since the dark part actually gets a bit gray and other menus outside the calling area are not modified after setup, leaving this very limited way.
Another important novelty for those who use the Duo for text messages is the quick access to the gallery for sending images to the contacts. In the lower right corner, a button appears that shows the existence of this option of shipping within the app, however, to see the most recent image of the gallery you must carry out the advanced permission process.

In terms of design, the novelty is very similar to the option we have on Instagram, but the functionality is totally different, mainly because it is not a social network, but a place of direct communication with other contacts.
