Finally! WhatsApp starts to release advanced search for beta users on Android

A few days after announcing a new feature that allows you to check the veracity of forwarded news, WhatsApp has just launched a new update for its beta users with a new advanced search mode, which promises to make life easier for those who constantly search for content in their conversations.

The novelty, which will be made available to anyone who has version 2.20.197.7 or higher of the application, will allow users to search the conversations for specific items, including photos, videos, GIFs, audios, and even links and documents. The search can be done through text, or even by clicking on the content category to be listed.

The advanced search is being released gradually, so it may take a while before it is available to everyone. Still, one way to speed up the process is to reinstall the application, which forces you to download the latest settings from the servers and should ensure access to all the news. However, if you don’t want to lose your most recent messages, remember to perform a backup first.

It is worth remembering that WhatsApp Beta has already had the debut of other interesting functions in the last few days, albeit as tests. The messaging platform received a feature that puts “expiration date” on messages, causing them to be deleted seven days after sending them. Another great news is the possibility to silence conversations and groups permanently, without the need to block your notifications again after a certain period.
