But already? Huawei patent suggests successor of foldable Mate X with two screens

foldable Mate XAfter the different folding smartphone ‘s Mate X, Huawei registered a new patent for a flexible device that could be the successor of the model presented in February this year.

As the image of the World Intellectual Property Organization document shows, the device would have two screens: one of ordinary cell phones and another that would fold and remain hidden until it was opened. See below:

Although the design resembles the Galaxy Fold, there are some important differences between Samsung’s patent and smartphone. One is the absence of a notch in the folding display or large edges in the smaller panel.

One of the speculations is that Huawei uses such a design to show the potential of its future operating system – if the impasse with Google and the United States government is not resolved – on a device with these characteristics.

On the other hand, scheduled to be released this June, Mate X has been extended to September, with the justification that the Chinese manufacturer is more “cautious” after the problems presented by Galaxy Fold units in the testing period.

It is important to note that the existence of a patent registration does not indicate that the product will be launched in the future. However, it signals the idea to be on the radar of the company on upcoming projects still unknown.
