The Apple Smart Connector came on the market with the first iPad Pro. The port allows you to connect accessories in a very fast and agile way, which promised to become the best option for many of the accessories that could arrive for the device.
The reality is that this has not happened and after two years on the market accessory manufacturers have just implemented it in their products. It seems that the reason is that the waiting times and the prices of the components are too high, which makes it unviable to launch accessories that integrate it.

Now a report from Fast Company assures that Apple is striving to change this and apparently are working with various accessories manufacturers to adopt the Smart Connector in their next products.
At the moment there is more information on the brands and products they are developing, but given the iPad sales rebound and it seems that Apple has finally found a way to change people’s perception of the device thanks to IOS 11 and new features built into the latest generations of iPad Pro, it seems that being in this market can be very important for the results accounts of tablet accessory manufacturers.
