Apple TV Plus: “The Morning Show” will have second season rewritten due to pandemic

Despite the criticism received for the first season, the series “The Morning Show” continues as one of Apple’s best to make its streaming service take-off – Apple TV Plus. Now, for its second season, the script will be rewritten and adapted to the effects of the new coronavirus pandemic.

The information comes from actor Mark Duplass, who plays producer Chip Black. In an interview with Deadline, he commented that the production sequence will take Covid-19 into account, in order to show that the writers are aware of what is happening in the world.

Duplass also recalled that the first season also needed adaptations “midway through”, to include the #MeToo movement, which involved reports of harassment and sexual abuse cases by high-ranking professionals.

“We recorded two episodes before we stopped because of the pandemic, but I know they are rewriting it – which is crazy, because that is exactly what happened in the first season. They had a set of scripts and rewrote everything to include the #MeToo movement, and now we have another, even bigger, global phenomenon to deal with. I don’t know what they are doing, but I do know that they are rewriting. ”
