Apple closes shipments of iPhone SE, 6, 6 Plus and 6S Plus to India

We are just a few months away from finally getting to know the new generation of iPhones by 2019. Apple is expected to unveil three models, two more expensive and one simpler, which will replace the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR.

Some models were still being sold around the world, especially in some Asian countries. Now Apple has closed shipments of iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6S Plus to India.

They were being sold since their respective releases and remained there so Apple could offer “low-cost” models. Some of them, such as the iPhone SE and the iPhone 6S, came to be produced in the country, but apparently, the strategy did not work.

The information is “anonymous executives” for the Economic Times, stating that only the iPhone 6S will remain in the market. The supply of parts for the models was cut short in June, while distributors and the Apple sales team advised leaving 6S to the “entry” market.

The move will really impact the price range of smartphones. The iPhone SE was priced at 21,000 rupees (~ 1149 reais) and iPhone 6 was priced at 29500 rupees (~ 1615 reais). As of May Apple went on to sell the iPhone 6S, now manufactured in India, for 26910 rupees, or approximately 1473 reais in direct conversion and without the addition of national taxes.

Anyway, we now have to wait for September, the month when the new iPhones should be officially shown by the American, to see if there will be any further changes.
