When we talk about updating the software on your device, there’s always a chance that something went wrong. If you find any error while updating your iPhone to the latest iOS version, here are a couple of things you can follow.
The error message:
Are you seeing the error message below i.e “Unable to Check for Update? An error occurred while checking for a software update.”?
Don’t worry! here are two things you can do to fix it.
Try a different Wi-Fi network:
Just Tap “Try Again” on the same network. In case if you’re still having trouble and are able to connect to a different wi-fi network, just try the update again there.
- At first open Settings and tap Wi-Fi.
- If prompted Tap to select a different network and enter the password.
In the end, go back to Settings > General > Software Update and try again.
Use iTunes to update your device:
If you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer and then follow these steps to update your device.
- Just connect your device to your computer.
- Choose your device on iTunes.
- Click Check for Update, On the Summary pane.
- At last Click Download and Update.
There’s nothing more irritating than receiving an error message when you’re trying to update software. Hopefully one of these (above mentioned) two fixes will work for you.
