Huawei P40: first photo taken with the device draws attention by the details

After a rendering confirms that the Huawei P40 Pro will be launched with five rear cameras in a sizable module, a photo allegedly taken with the P40 was released on Chinese social media.

This indicates that Huawei has already delivered the device so that some users can test it before the official launch. The image was compressed by the Weibo platform, but it maintains a number of details that catch the eye.

See below that the photo was taken using the device’s portrait mode, and the bokeh effect demonstrates impressive edge recognition. This is evident in the upper part of the bird (quetzal) where the finer feathers do not mix.

The person responsible for the leak also informed that the telephoto lens of the Huawei P40 will be double, while the photo released has a resolution of 16 MP. For now, these are the only details available about the P40 family cameras.

Anyway, Huawei should provide some news of the Mate 30 line in the new devices: wide-angle sensor “Cine-Lens” and ToF. In addition, rumors indicate that the Chinese may offer optical zoom “never seen on smartphones”.

It is worth remembering that the P40 line should be announced in March. The devices will be launched with the new Kirin 990 5G processor, which should work with 12 GB of RAM and storage that starts at 128 GB.
