First image of Galaxy Watch 3 confirms return of revolving crown

Less than a day after the revelation that Samsung’s next generation of a smartwatch would hit the market featuring the return of the physical crown around the screen to offer the most sporty style of generations from a few years earlier, we now have the first real photo that proves that the information was correct.

The image below is of a certificate issued in South Korea for the SM-R850 and SM-R840 variants of the Galaxy Watch 3. Both do not appear to have a 4G LTE network connection but must support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. But the great attraction is even for the shape of the frontal region.

As you can see, we will have the same traditional circular shape adopted by Samsung years ago, in addition to the presence of two physical buttons on the side, with a physical crown around the glass screen.

In addition to offering more resistance to the glass panel against possible falls or the possibility of bumping the watch in the seem accidentally (as I am tired of doing), the return of the crown will offer the same navigation control feature on the watch interface, something that Samsung did it with Watch Active 2 by creating a “digital” crown (being brought to Watch Active 1 in the update ), running its finger around the edge of the display.

The new Galaxy Watch 3 (or Active 3) is expected to be introduced in July alongside Samsung’s wireless headphones in bean form, but without details regarding pricing or sales dates. Such information is expected to be revealed at product launch during the second Unpacked 2020, which will announce in August the powerful Galaxy Note 20 line and the new Galaxy Fold 2.
